As close as it gets

I will call it ... As close as it gets, because though this week is Macro....my camera is more like look kinda close and any closer I'll distort your photo.  This week was more than challenging as the camera I have is hardly keeping up with me.  It has begun to turn my love of photography into well I just need a new one and I'll be okay.

These colors....they are so vivid and these shots where fun to take.  I love how the deep purple and the bright green just pop against each other.  Summer drive and a picnic with the kids (who picked me the flowers) proved to be a successful photo session.

This is my personal favorite simply because its all me...these are the features of my children that are from my end of the gene pool.  They are few but they are mine.  These lil people are the essence of who I am today and they are the reason I will forever strive to grow.  After all there is one thing that parenting has taught me so far....the lesson will not end here.

Some textures that I tried out

This was a preset but I do like the lay out and I also like the one photo really pops against all the green.  Wishing I would have tried a different color background on the flowers.  I think the grey is dulling.

I did take several other pictures that I will work with.  However one of the days my only camera was the dreaded cell phone so they are less that lovely.

  1. You really tried out a couple different ways to get the best shots. I really like the creativity you put into the assignment. I really enjoyed the first collage. You really made the flowers pop against the green photo's that you took. You also really captured some textures in the last collage.

  2. I also really liked the first collage. The contrast of the purple and green worked nicely. I also liked how a lot of the photos were angled, giving the viewer a different perspective. I also really liked the second collage of the kids. When I was in high school I did a collage of a person using around 30-40 close up shots and pieces them all together. It was a fun project and your collage reminded me of it.

  3. Once I began putting the kids collage together I had an idea to build one face out of all the pics however it didn't work with the angles and sides I had. HAHAHA the ears would have been upside down and backwards :) maybe a metaphoric collage of some sort.

  4. Absolutely awesome! Thank you for putting together so many...I am hoping this is indicative of you having fun with this....You will be learning how to change that background color soon enough...
