Colors and Light
Here is a few shots I've taken this week. I hope you all enjoy them!
Complementary Colors - Red Barn - green pasture
Natural non direct lighting..she is my funny bone :)
A flash on and she fights the smile :)
There's a little mountain on the mountain.....it's true the illuminati are here!
I loved the lighting in the clouds of this shot. The storm just breaking and the sunlight was so bright in the sky.
Monochromatic - Graze for Days
more monochromatic and a lil macro...- wheat see you
The storm was just rolling in and all I could think was great there goes my lighting. But the day made for some great shots after all. I think I might take a few more shots during the next storm.
The light was shining in the field and clouded over the mountains with just a peak of direct sun on the back mountain...but mostly this is my classic Vermont summer view.
I love the siloutte look this shot had though it was so dark I just like it. Its a good quote shot :) pre framed!
A lil over exposure shot??
How flash can ruin a beautiful scene....This was beautiful to the naked eye, the rain running down the tree and the vine brightly growing up it. However the auto flash totally killed that!
I really like the river photo (the first one) It's almost like looking down a tunnel. I also like the picture of the dark clouds over the black mountain top. That photo sets a really dark mood that makes me feel like it's the calm before the storm. Good pictures! I tried to capture a mountain photo myself this week. I feel like the mountains look a lot more majestic to the naked eye then they do in a photo though.
ReplyDeleteThey are and one day I'll get a panoramic camera lens :)
DeleteThe lighting in all of these is great! I especially love the picture with the light coming through the clouds, it's such a neat contrast and really puts the focus on the lit up clouds which are amazing
ReplyDeleteI see what you mean about the flash ruining the last picture, it took me a minute to figure out what was going on. I can imagine how beautiful it was in natural light.
ReplyDeleteYea it loaded sideways and I couldn't adjust it after loading :/ but it was cool.
DeleteThese are some really great shots! I love the one with the mountains and the sun hitting just a small piece of it. I also like the field with the giant hay marshmallows, all the colors seem to pop in that photo.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the lighting in the photos. You did a good job utilizing the natural light.
ReplyDeleteI am so psyched you have the experience of the flash ruining the photo! This will help to inform your future photographic adventures....now you can appreciate the advantages of using the manual settings. With the manual settings, you can adjust the way the light is used to create the image you desire.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mike about the river photo, in that you have found a great balance between the sky and the trees. If you were to highlight the sky, then the trees would be too dark. If you highlighted the trees then the sky would be too light. The next step to address this would be to create what is referred to as a HDR photo. HDR is a High Dynamic Range photo. The way to produce an HDR photo is to firstly use a tripod, and then take the same shot at different shutter speeds and then combine the shots using Photoshop....you will be introduced to this program as part of the second part of this class...
Really, great work on all of these photos!
