Framing and Composition

This week is short and sweet ..... My photographers advice was awesome and I will keep playing around more with the features of my pos oops I mean P&S ;) Until then this is what she does!

The above is my favorite Framing Shot....The composition is off but I like the color and clarity.
This was the same shot with a different ISO and exposure  Not the clearest and the color seemed dull

These two shots where almost the same however I like the composition of the top one more.  I know the bottom is closer to the 2/3rds rule but I feel like the top shot pulls your eye more to the moon
This shot was closer to the 2/3rds composition.
This shot left a huge open area above the moon making it feel unsymmetrical

 Colors and Light

Here is a few shots I've taken this week.  I hope you all enjoy them!

 I call this ... 50/50
Complementary Colors - Red Barn -  green pasture
Natural non direct lighting..she is my funny bone :)
A flash on and she fights the smile :)
There's a little mountain on the mountain.....it's true the illuminati are here!
I loved the lighting in the clouds of this shot.  The storm just breaking and the sunlight was so bright in the sky.
 Monochromatic - Graze for Days
more monochromatic and a lil macro...- wheat see you
The storm was just rolling in and all I could think was great there goes my lighting. But the day made for some great shots after all. I think I might take a few more shots during the next storm.
The light was shining in the field and clouded over the mountains with just a peak of direct sun on the back mountain...but mostly this is my classic Vermont summer view.
I love the siloutte look this shot had though it was so dark I just like it.  Its a good quote shot :) pre framed!
 A lil over exposure shot??
How flash can ruin a beautiful scene....This was beautiful to the naked eye, the rain running down the tree and the vine brightly growing up it.  However the auto flash totally killed that!

As close as it gets

I will call it ... As close as it gets, because though this week is Macro....my camera is more like look kinda close and any closer I'll distort your photo.  This week was more than challenging as the camera I have is hardly keeping up with me.  It has begun to turn my love of photography into well I just need a new one and I'll be okay.

These colors....they are so vivid and these shots where fun to take.  I love how the deep purple and the bright green just pop against each other.  Summer drive and a picnic with the kids (who picked me the flowers) proved to be a successful photo session.

This is my personal favorite simply because its all me...these are the features of my children that are from my end of the gene pool.  They are few but they are mine.  These lil people are the essence of who I am today and they are the reason I will forever strive to grow.  After all there is one thing that parenting has taught me so far....the lesson will not end here.

Some textures that I tried out

This was a preset but I do like the lay out and I also like the one photo really pops against all the green.  Wishing I would have tried a different color background on the flowers.  I think the grey is dulling.

I did take several other pictures that I will work with.  However one of the days my only camera was the dreaded cell phone so they are less that lovely.

One Object Many Views

My Fishing Man

For this assignment I choose to photograph my son while he fished.  He is three and a hard subject to shoot as he moves often.  But even with my point and shoot camera I captured a few shots I will cherish.

The above shot is my favorite from this session, it captures my view of him, well this is how I see him when we fish, His back, only his back, he has such a passion for fishing you can't interrupt him from his mission. The lighting was lacking on this day and we seemed to be under a looming cloud the entire time.  The sky line is washed and you can't make out the sky color.  The below shot was similar but he is darker and the sky seems more in true color. I'm finding that I have little to no appreciation for my camera and it's limited functions.
