Clone Text and Paint

For this photo I painted and smudged the border as well as a crop and heal.
This photo I played with the text features
And this lil boy stickered himself and I helped him add a few more with the clone tool.

Filter

This is a photo I took this weekend....What do you think?

On the above photo I applied a sepia filter and I also played around with many more, My biggest challenge on this photo is how to remove the excess glare of his over exposed shirt.  Any suggestions?
This is one I cartooned and I actually like the definition better. Although the lighting in this image still seems off to me.  I did try to play around with it more but I wasn't really pleased with my results.

This is the original....ok, ok I lied the below is the original ;)

yup...it's eye play, angles, and a good ole uprooted tree! the over exposure I could have done with out but don't blame the camera this time...it was a rushed shot and I got so overwhelmed thinking of the out come I over looked my exposure time and well....glare intense glare but overall I love the shot!

Color Edits

I chose to do a couple different color edits on the same picture to show how you can manipulate one photo to have a different feel.
The above is a custom color I created by adjusting the colors for the shadow and highlights.  I think this one is my favorite.
 This was the original photo

This was a black and white or color removal.  I removed the color to create a grey scale effect.

This was an attempt at layers and light.....still figuring out GIMP

GIMP

After Struggling with GIMP I've come to realize I need to re download it. I have lost all my tool bars :( here is a photo that I cropped, color corrected, and filtered. Below is a similar photo, the original one is permanently over wrote :/ but you get the drift....

Landscape

Landscapes are some of my favorite to shoot, another reason why I am so anxiously awaiting my new camera!

These 2 photos where taken same time same day...different angles and one framed.  However I like the detail in the above shot more and wish I would have played with the shot more.

This is my favorite landscape of the weekend! It's the shot I look forward to taking every year. Even with most of our squad missing this year we still managed to take up two parking spots.  We all cram shoulder to shoulder to watch the parade in Woodsville NH.  We dress up and look tacky, we embody the red, white, and blue.  There is more than just tradition, more than memories; it's our future too.  It's the ones who jump for candy that will one day remember these times with family and wake at a ridiculous hour, gather their offspring and come spend this time with the ones who love them most....Family

Framing and Composition

This week is short and sweet ..... My photographers advice was awesome and I will keep playing around more with the features of my pos oops I mean P&S ;) Until then this is what she does!

The above is my favorite Framing Shot....The composition is off but I like the color and clarity.
This was the same shot with a different ISO and exposure  Not the clearest and the color seemed dull

These two shots where almost the same however I like the composition of the top one more.  I know the bottom is closer to the 2/3rds rule but I feel like the top shot pulls your eye more to the moon
This shot was closer to the 2/3rds composition.
This shot left a huge open area above the moon making it feel unsymmetrical

 Colors and Light

Here is a few shots I've taken this week.  I hope you all enjoy them!

 I call this ... 50/50
Complementary Colors - Red Barn -  green pasture
Natural non direct lighting..she is my funny bone :)
A flash on and she fights the smile :)
There's a little mountain on the mountain.....it's true the illuminati are here!
I loved the lighting in the clouds of this shot.  The storm just breaking and the sunlight was so bright in the sky.
 Monochromatic - Graze for Days
more monochromatic and a lil macro...- wheat see you
The storm was just rolling in and all I could think was great there goes my lighting. But the day made for some great shots after all. I think I might take a few more shots during the next storm.
The light was shining in the field and clouded over the mountains with just a peak of direct sun on the back mountain...but mostly this is my classic Vermont summer view.
I love the siloutte look this shot had though it was so dark I just like it.  Its a good quote shot :) pre framed!
 A lil over exposure shot??
How flash can ruin a beautiful scene....This was beautiful to the naked eye, the rain running down the tree and the vine brightly growing up it.  However the auto flash totally killed that!
